Willie Nelson has announced a new album, The Border, due out May 31st, 2024.

The album is allegedly Willie’s 152nd and features ten newly recorded studio tracks including four new Willie Nelson/Buddy Cannon compositions and will be available digitally, on CD, and vinyl, with a special edition LP pressed on orange vinyl available exclusively at Barnes & Noble. An exclusive vinyl version that includes a 12” x 12 lyric book with extensive listening notes by noted writer Mikal Gilmore and photos by Pamela Springsteen will also be available on Willie’s store.

Along with the new album announcement, Willie Nelson shared the title track and lead single, “The Border”, which speaks to the complex reality of life as a border guard. The song was co-written by Rodney Crowell and Allen Shamblin and appeared on Crowell’s 2019 album Texas.
