Arcade Fire’s Win Butler Opens NYC DJ Set With Beck/Kanye West Mashup

It’s the cool new music feud that just won’t die. DJ Windows 98, better known as Arcade Fire’s Win Butler, offered his two cents on the Beck/Kanye West Grammy awards debacle by creating a funny mash up track. Butler opened up his recent DJ set at Bowery Ballroom with the mash up of Kanye’s “Jesus Walks” and Beck’s “Loser.” The track is also available on his personal SoundCloud. 

Kanye West had a very busy week since the Grammy’s, mostly consisting of free concerts and special appearances in New York City. However, he can’t seem to escape the small mistake he made by attempting to storm the stage during Beck’s acceptance speech for his recent Record Of The Year win. One well-known rock star publicly stated that Beck should have kicked Kanye in the balls. Yet this Win Butler mash up takes the dispute to new level and places it on musical turf. Just as Mike Myers did during his Wayne’s World skit during SNL’s 40^th anniversary show, sometimes we just need to tell Kanye West to sit down.
