Calling all wooks: Wooking For Love, a new reality dating show centered around Denver’s jam band and electronic music festival subculture, is now casting contestants.
What started as a joke has snowballed into a cultural phenomenon in the making. Created by Denver tattoo artist LaRue Allegretto, the show will feature 16 “diverse wooks seeking love, connection, and their forever festival partner.” Contestants will arrive “not in limos, but in dusty Subarus” to compete in a series of wook-appropriate challenges, from flow art choreography and stage-hand production to snowboarding in Aspen and riding the rail to sunrise.
“We’re gonna be cutting off wristbands instead of giving out roses,” Allegretto explained. “You’re gonna be a ground score if you get dropped by your partner.”
According to the newly launched website, “The series brings together the humor, absurdity, and raw heart of the scene through games, challenges, and real relationships… The tone is playful, cinematic, and deeply human. It speaks to the same crowd that fills Red Rocks, Nova Studios, and late-night renegades across Colorado. The humor is self-aware but affectionate: it laughs with the culture, not at it.”

Allegretto told L4LM the show has already received over 200 applications, and he is in talks with concert production giant AEG about a potential partnership. He also plans to collaborate with a research-based addiction counseling program to ensure responsible representation of substance use in festival culture.
“We’re not going to explicitly condone or glorify usage, nor are we going to act like it’s not a part of the scene,” he said. “This is an issue very close to my heart and I was always planning to help highlight it as a real, present aspect of the culture while offering avenues to assistance where it’s needed.”
Applications are open now through Valentine’s Day for those ready to “find your forever ground score,” with filming reportedly set to begin by early spring. All wooks are welcome, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or relationship style. Check out the submission guidelines in the video below.
