Wu-Tang Clan will bring the Shaolin to Sin City in 2024 with a concert residency at Las Vegas, Nevada’s The Theater at Virgin Hotels.
Billed as The Saga Continues: The Las Vegas Residency, the initial announcement is comprised of four shows. The first two are set to take place over Super Bowl weekend (Friday, February 9th and Saturday, February 10th), when the city is set to host the big game at Allegiant Stadium for the first time. The next two are scheduled during March Madness (Friday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 23rd), another weekend that often bring an influx of travelers to the desert gambling oasis.
While the four announced dates place Wu-Tang Clan’s run on the shorter end of the typical Las Vegas residency spectrum, the group and the venue appear to have plenty of open dates with which it could scale the stint’s length to match audience demand.
Wu-Tang Clan has in recent years hosted various live performances featuring shifting combinations of its living members, RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon the Chef, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and Cappadonna. It is unclear which members will be on hand for the Las Vegas residency shows.
Group leader RZA, real name Robert Diggs, told The New York Times that the residency had been in the works for roughly five years and that he hopes it entices other rappers to become a part of the vibrant Las Vegas entertainment industry. Read more from RZA on the residency here.
