[Originally published 2/22/26; Updated 3/7/26]: Renowned soul vocalist Yebba has returned with her long-awaited second studio album, Jean, and announced her first-ever headlining tour.

Named after Yebba’s late grandmother, Jean finds the singer emerging from the shadow of grief and stepping into a new creative era. The album reveals new dimensions of her artistry as both a songwriter and vocalist while preserving the qualities that define her work: deeply personal storytelling, technical precision, and striking emotional depth. Across its 14 tracks, the record moves fluidly between intimate moments and sweeping arrangements, with instrumentation ranging from hushed vocals and guitar to expansive full-band soundscapes. Drawing on a wide palette of influences—including gospel, R&B, dream pop, folk, Delta blues, and country—the collection highlights Yebba’s versatility without losing its emotional center. Throughout, her powerful yet often understated voice anchors each song, reflecting the spiritually grounded approach she brings to her craft. As she put it: “All of it is worship.”

Released on Friday via RCA Records, Jean was executive produced and written by Yebba alongside producer John Rooney and features an extensive cast of collaborators, including Grammy-nominated drummer and composer Nate Smith, jazz pianist and producer James Francies—known for his work with The Roots, Childish Gambino, and Pat MethenyBuddy Ross, the producer and keyboardist best known as a longtime collaborator of Frank Ocean, and many more.

It’s been nearly five years since Yebba released her debut album, Dawn—a deeply personal record named after her late mother—in 2021. In the years since, she has kept a relatively low profile as a solo artist while remaining active as a collaborator. She appeared on Drake‘s Certified Lover Boy and contributed to Tyler, the Creator‘s 2025 project Don’t Tap The Glass. She has also performed alongside jazz pianist Robert Glasper, including at his 2023 Blue Note residency, cementing a reputation as one of the most compelling live vocalists working today. That reputation was on full display in a widely circulated recording of her performing Simon & Garfunkel‘s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” alongside Jacob Collier—a performance so striking it drew widespread attention even before the full version was released. Notably, Yebba did not take a feature credit on the track.

After being kept off the road by the pandemic following her debut album, Yebba will take Jean on the road later this year, with U.S. dates spanning the spring months followed by a summer trek through Europe. Scroll down for a full list of shows and head here for tickets.
