After spending eight years sharpening his skills working as a hired songwriter for Universal Music Publishing Group and playing with Los Angeles-area bands like Jeff Goldblum‘s jazz project, singer-songwriter Young Mister (creative alias of Steven Fiore) emerged victoriously with this self-titled debut studio album in June 2016. With help from producer Wolfgang ZimmermanYoung Mister was nothing short of a masterpiece, blending the ease of modern Americana with a soulful and uptempo pop sound with tracks that have since been included in past editions of the Live For Live Music Monthly Mix playlist.

On Friday, Fiore self-released Same Songs But Different, a new collection of recordings of all eight songs featured on his 2016 debut with different arrangements and minimal instrumentation. The updated, relaxed recordings give new life to songs including “The Best Part”, “Carolina”, “Anybody Out There”, and “Pasadena”, and showcase Fiore’s wonderful ability to explore music with freshly-imagined personalities.

Fans who have been following Young Mister’s career already know the songwriter/guitarist/singer is capable of re-working his music with varied tempos and chord structures, as seen and heard during Fiore’s Relix Studio Sessions acoustic performance in February 2017.

The album was released to Bandcamp on Friday, as the popular artist-friendly streaming platform continues to waive its revenue share with its ongoing “Bandcamp Fridays” initiative. An announcement shared by the platform on Friday actually confirmed it will continue to hold Bandcamp Fridays on the first Friday of every month until the end of the year.
