Wrap up New Orleans Jazz Fest weekend one properly with a funk-a-thon in honor of Adam Deitch’s birthday. The Lettuce/Pretty Lights/Break Science drummer will take over One Eyed Jack’s on Sunday, April 26 for a late night rager of epic proportions. He’ll be joined by Lettuce members Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff, Ryan Zoidis and Eric Benny Bloom, as well as Donald Harrison, Kofi Burbridge and Calvin Turner.
Adam Deitch’s Top 10 Most Exciting Drummers In The Scene
Deitch owns the late night Jazz Fest scene as one of the hardest working drummers in the game. He always throws down hard and is sure to take it to the next level for his birthday celebration. Tack on friends and bandmates Benny Bloom, Ryan Zoidis and Shmeeans and you’ve got a partial Lettuce show in the works. Funk level: extreme.
Donald Harrison is a NOLA staple and Mardi Gras Indian who created “Nouveau Swing.” The legend has not only performed with but mentored and taught everyone from Notorious B.I.G. to Trombone Shorty. Kofi Burbridge plays keys and flute for the Tedeschi Trucks Band along with brother Oteil, a former member of the Allman Brothers. Calvin Turner boasts an insane roster of people he has worked with including such legends as Mick Jagger, Jennifer Hudson, Gloria Gaynor, Joss Stone and The Temptations. All of these acclaimed artists will bring something special to the table.
