Yusuf/Cat Stevens has shared the music video for his reimagined take on “On The Road To Find Out”, which will be included on his forthcoming 50th anniversary reissue of 1970’s Tea for the Tillerman. Released on Thursday, Yusuf’s updated version of the old song follows the previously-shared claymation video for “Where Do The Children Play?” shared back in June.

For his latest video, Yusuf recruited directors Kimberly Stuckwisch and Melora Donoghue to help create the visual narrative which follows a long-haired man struggling to pull what looks to be a massive boulder-like object across a barren desert setting during the day and at night. The entire video was filmed on location and the film crew used only natural light to capture the character’s journey. The video’s about section reads, “‘On The Road To Find Out’ is an allegory for humanity’s journey of self-discovery and the historical events, art, and music that have influenced life and culture.”

To go with the video’s arrival on Thursday, Yusuf also added, “I like the gritty desert blues sound of my new version; it echoes the dangerous mood of the world out there.”

“When some people have lost the spiritual link to their lives, music can play an important part,” Yusuf said about revisiting Tea for the Tillerman 50 years later with the initial album announcement earlier this year. “So from that point of view, I think that the sentiments from the album are incredibly important to us today. It shows that there are human beings still around. That’s important.”
