On July 3rd, 1973, David Bowie gave his final performance as Ziggy Stardust at London’s iconic Hammersmith Odeon. This July, exactly 50 years later to the day, digitally restored footage of the performance will screen at the very same venue, now called the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith, and in select theaters around the globe to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust’s legacy.

A newly restored 4K edition of the 1979 concert film Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture will receive a special screening in select cities, including a red carpet premiere in London with an onstage panel featuring some of his frequent collaborators and musical successors ahead of the screening. Click here to find participating theaters in your area.

Included in the newly revitalized film—complete with 5.1 surround sound—are bonus scenes cut from the original version, like appearances by the recently deceased Jeff Beck and beloved Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. It also features Ziggy Stardust’s onstage antics and candid backstage moments of Bowie and The Spiders from Mars shot by filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker (Monterey Pop, Bob Dylan Don’t Look Back, Depeche Mode 101).

The Q&A and the film will screen for one night only on July 3rd in cinemas in the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, and Australia. Screenings in Canada, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary will take place throughout July, and additional screenings will be announced in the U.S., Latin America, Asia, France, Spain, Belgium, and Scandinavia.

The Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars: The Motion Picture Soundtrack (50th Anniversary Edition) will be available digitally and as 2CD/Blu-Ray, 2CD, and 2LP Limited Edition Gold Sets. Click here to order.
