While summer festivals still hang perilously in the balance as the United States begins to distribute the first COVID-19 vaccines, event production company Goldenvoice is reportedly getting involved in the effort.

According to the Desert Sun, the AEG Live-owned, Los Angeles-based company behind Coachella and Stagecoach is reportedly in talks with Riverside County in Southern California to help set up a mass vaccination site in the region. Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez was quoted in the Desert Sun as saying that Goldenvoice is “Willing to be helpful and supportive” in the effort to vaccinate thousands of people per day in Riverside County, which has a population of over two million.

“We know what they can do with the concerts, all the logistics and planning that takes place,” Perez said during a Board of Supervisors meeting on Wednesday.

Goldenvoice’s 500-acre Empire Polo Club in Indio was one of the possible sites mentioned by Perez’s communications director, Dan Schemmer

This news comes as Dr. Anthony Faucci stated earlier this week that he could foresee concerts returning by late fall if vaccination rollout across the country goes according to schedule. Therefore, it would be in the vested interest of Goldenvoice to help in the distribution of vaccines in any way possible. As of now, Coachella is still set to take place on April 9th—11th and 16th—18th of this year. Palm Springs, CA Mayor Christy Holstege recently told the Morning Beat, “We’re not planning on events in spring this year. We’re hoping that those events will be rescheduled to the fall of this year.”
