[UPDATE 11/24/21]: WinterWonderGrass Colorado finalized its 2022 lineup on Wednesday with the addition of its final headliner, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. The Americana rock outfit headed by Willie Nelson‘s son joins fellow headliners The Wood Brothers, Trampled By Turtles, and Yonder Mountain String Band. The traveling bluegrass festival returns to the Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs February 25th–27th.
“We have been working hard to bring Lukas Nelson into the WinterWonderGrass community for several years, and finally the stars have aligned,” shares festival founder and producer, Scotty Stoughton. “I had the opportunity to promote Lukas over ten years ago at State Bridge. After spending a little time with him, I learned that he was not only an incredible musician with a stellar band, but he was a kind and thoughtful human—the exact kind of folks we love working with and welcoming into our community. I always love watching a new act take the stage for the first time, and I know POTR’s headlining set is going to just blow minds. This gathering just cannot come soon enough!”
Also on tap for the 2022 return of WinterWonderGrass Colorado are Kitchen Dwellers, The Travelin’ McCourys, Sierra Hull, Lindsay Lou, Tejon Street Corner Thieves, The War and Treaty, Molly Tuttle, Ghost of Paul Revere, Dustbowl Revival, Cris Jacobs Band, Pickin’ on the Dead, Buffalo Commons, Sticks and Thorns, The Sweet Lillies, Drunken Hearts, Morsel, and Joy Roemer Band.
WinterWonderGrass has also announced Tyler Grant and Friends as part of the Road To WonderGrass Steamboat series, featuring a free performance on Steamboat Resort’s opening day this Saturday, November 27th, at 1 p.m. MT. Attendees of the free concert can purchase WWG passes with no fees, enter to win tickets, and other free swag. [11/10/21]: WinterWonderGrass Colorado further bolstered its 2022 lineup on Wednesday with the addition of its third headliner, The Wood Brothers. The trio of Chris and Oliver Wood alongside multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix joins previously announced headliners Trampled By Turtles and Yonder Mountain String Band. The traveling bluegrass festival returns to the Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs February 25th–27th.
“We’re very excited for a triumphant return to WinterWonderGrass! We’ll be there with bells and long Johns on,” The Wood Brothers said in a statement. Bassist Chris Wood adds, “My brother [Oliver] came to this band from the blues and gospel world, and my history was all over the map with jazz and R&B. The idea for [The Wood Brothers] has always been to marry our backgrounds, to imagine what might happen if Robert Johnson and Charles Mingus had started a band together.”

“To simply say we missed our community, the WinterWonderGrass vibrations, and the snow-covered festival is perhaps the understatement of my lifetime,” says festival founder and producer, Scotty Stoughton. “What gets me up in the morning is knowing this is exactly what the universe intended for me to do. While we didn’t sit idle, we certainly felt the hole in our hearts. But now we get to redeem ourselves, take the pent-up energy of two years and fill the fireworks. Can’t wait to light the fuse, host our village and get back to creating memories of a lifetime.”
