The inaugural Fool’s Paradise is set to bring the heat on April 1 & 2 in St. Augustine, FL. Bringing your favorite bands to the beach for two full days, there will be genre-bending music, artist-led excursions, musical workshops, yoga and activities just steps from the ocean. With Lettuce, GRiZ, Goldfish on Friday, we bring you Vulfpeck, The Nth Power, and Chris Robinson’s Soul Revue on Saturday.

Anyone who went to Bear Creek Music Festival last year will remember the incredibly funky, soulful set that Chris Robinson’s Soulive Revue brought to the stage. We are thrilled to announce we are bringing another one-off with a similar cast of characters to this year’s main stage at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.

Watch The Full Set From Chris Robinson’s Soulive Revue At Bear Creek Fest

These funky fellas will be lighting up the night with funk, soul, and everything in between.

Chris Robinson is one of the most respected musicians of his generation and has sold over 36 million records during the span of his career. The Georgia native’s on-stage presence and soulful voice is best known for his 25-plus year career on the road with the band The Black Crowes.  Over the years, Chris has collaborated with other legendary artists like Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, in addition to Phil Lesh and Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead. Besides these musical collaborations, he has continued producing and writing with a myriad of other artists. Now with his own band, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, the self-described “farm to table psychedelic rock band” has continued his legacy with a progressive, dynamic rock ‘n’ roll sound.

During the course of a career spanning more than four decades, George Porter Jr. has not only made a deep impression with his work in the Meters, but he’s notched session work with artists as diverse as Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffett, David Byrne, Patti LaBelle, Robbie Robertson, Tori Amos, Taj Mahal, Ryan Montbleau and live performances with Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Warren Haynes, John Scofield, Steve Kimock, Eric Krasno (and including recent studio releases with Warren Haynes and Bill Kreutzmann) just to name a few. The funk ambassador’s bass thumping can be felt within miles of any funk exchange, and for that we approve.  Early in his career, Porter worked with seminal New Orleans artists like Allen Toussaint, Earl King, Lee Dorsey, and Johnny Adams, Irma Thomas, The Lastie Brothers, again to only name a few.

New Orleans-born keyboardist, singer and songwriter, Ivan Neville‘s music career began as a teenager performing alongside his father, Aaron, and his uncles, Art, Charles and Cyril in the Neville Brothers. Contemporarily known for the funk powerhouse known as Dumpstaphunk, one of the foremost leaders of their genre worldwide, Ivan’s career spans from contributing to two Rolling Stones albums, to full-time members in Keith Richard‘s band and Bonnie Raitt‘s band; additionally, he’s performed with Rufus, Don Henley, Robby Robertson, the Spin Doctors, Warren Haynes and others in the years to follow. His first solo record, If My Ancestors Could See Me Now, landed him a Top 40 Billboard hit with “Not Just Another Girl.” Today, he is touring nationwide and overseas with Dumpstaphunk in support of their second full-length album Dirty Word.

Female powerhouse Nikki Glaspie was Beyonce’s world-touring drummer for five years before she joined Ivan Neville’s New Orleans funk outfit, Dumpstaphunk. Now, she’s the driving force behind the progressive soul, R&B and gospel of The Nth Power. Born in Fredricksburg VA, raised in Montgomery County MD and Raleigh NC to a family of black southern ministers, Nikki Glaspie is anything but your typical, pious southern belle. When most girls her age were having tea parties, at the tender age of 8, Nikki was the full time drummer for her church. It was there that Nikki honed her skills, began to develop her own unique style of drumming, and fell in love with performing. Student and graduate of Berklee College, Nikki escalated quickly to the top of her game. Now, ultimately, she chooses to focus exclusively on her own music, solo career and to get back to her number one love: FUNK MUSIC!

Throughout his 20 years in the music industry, Eric Krasno has never fit into any single defined role. In addition to his guitar playing in Soulive & Lettuce, both of which he helped co-found, he’s a Grammy Award Winning Songwriter & Guitarist (Derek Trucks Band “Already Free” & Tedeschi Trucks Band “Revelator”) and a Grammy Nominated Producer (Ledisi “Turn Me Loose” & Matisyahu “Light”). He’s produced songs and/or records for a diverse list of artists including Norah Jones, 50 Cent, Talib Kweli, Justin Timberlake, Ledisi, Chaka Khan, Vieux Farka Toure, Dave Matthews and Aaron Neville. In addition to two Lettuce sets, he’ll be crushing the Soul Revue once again!

Neal Casal is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and photographer. First rising to prominence as lead guitar with Rickey Medlocke’s Blackfoot from 1988-1993, Neal was best known as a member of Ryan Adams’ backing band the Cardinals, with whom he recorded three studio albums, and of whom he was a member from 2005 until 2009. Casal currently plays in the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Hardworking Americans, and has released twelve solo albums. His most recent project is Circles Around The Sun, which came together specifically for the Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary Reunion, releasing Interludes For The Dead as the psychedelic set-break music specifically written for the occasion.

The Shady Horns are one the tightest and funkiest horn sections on the scene today. As the official horn section for funk legends Lettuce and former Blue Note recording artists Soulive, Eric Bloom (trumpet) and Ryan Zoidis (sax) also appear on all Lettuce records and numerous Soulive releases as well. They, without a doubt, blow the roof off of everyone room they enter.
