Earlier this summer, Iowa City-native soul-funk outfit Eufórquestra welcomed fans to Lone Tree, IA for their 16th annual Camp Euforia festival. The July event featured two regular sets by the host band in addition to a very special Led Zeppelin tribute performance featuring guest vocalist Kim Dawson (Pimps of Joytime, Matador! Soul Sounds).

“The EUF-Zeppelin set at Camp Euforia was a really special moment for the band and for the festival this year,” Eufórquestra guitarist Mike Tallman tells Live For Live Music about the performance, “We have a lot of fun with the whole show, but ‘Kashmir’ definitely represents the culmination of it all. The band was firing on all cylinders and the performance was elevated by Robert Espe‘s violin playing and, of course, Kim Dawson’s interpretation of Robert Plant.”

While many often struggle in their attempts to channel and recreate the magical tones delivered by Plant in the original recording, Dawson didn’t feel the need to stray too far outside of her comfort zone to hit all the wailing notes with confidence and power. The addition of string and horn instrumentation only added more potent musical fuel to the fearsome performance.

Today, Live For Live Music is excited to premiere the full, pro-shot video of Eufórquestra and Kim Dawson’s recreation of “Kashmir” at Camp Euforia 2019. Watch the video below:
