Doom Flamingo headed to Nashville on Thursday for an evening of socially distant outdoor music and dancing at 6th & Peabody.

The self-described “six-headed synthwave beast” features Umphrey’s McGee bassist Ryan Stasik alongside vocalist Kanika Moore, guitarist Thomas Kenney, saxophonist Mike Quinn, keyboardist Ross Bogan, and drummer Stu White.

Doom Flaming recently wowed Deadheads by adding a “touch of pink” to “Touch of Grey” to transform the Grateful Dead hit into an ’80s slow jam for the recent virtual Greatest Story Ever Told: 81 Songs To Celebrate Phil Lesh’s 81st Birthday event. Watch Doom Flamingo’s rendition of “Touch of Grey” here.

On Earth Day, Thursday, April 22nd, Doom Flamingo will take part in the all-star virtual fundraising event, Rainforest Benefit Concert – Save The Tongass. Presented by KEEN shoes and Garcia via FANS, the show will be modeled after the Grateful Dead‘s famous September 24th, 1988 rainforest benefit concert at Madison Square Garden.
