The Avett Brothers are the latest notable music group to announce their own drive-in concert, set to take place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC later this summer on Saturday, August 29th.

Announced by the popular folk-rock group on Tuesday, the upcoming outdoor show is the latest in the growing industry-wide trend of drive-in style concerts which have been utilized by bands ranging from Spafford and Aqueous to Brad Paisley and Nelly since all traditional live performance events went on hiatus back in March.

The August 29th performance at the major raceway will also help the band and their fans celebrate The Avett Brothers’ forthcoming 10th studio album, The Third Gleam, out August 28th. The band’s most recent album, Closer Than Together, was released in October 2019 to widespread critical acclaim.

Tuesday’s announcement did not confirm whether other bands or artists will join The Avett Brothers at the concert, but more details will be shared closer to the event.
