Bridgeport, CT’s Big Shrimp is closing out 2025 in a big way, announcing a run of winter tour dates, new releases, expanded fan-engagement programs, and a Phish after-party in New York City.

Presented by Sage Entertainment, Big Shrimp’s free Phish after-party will take place on December 29th, around the block from Madison Square Garden at Jack Doyle’s. Formed in 2024 following the dissolution of guitarist/vocalist Jared Sage Cowen‘s prior long-standing band, Baked Shrimp, the group—Cowen, Max Perrotti (bass/vocals), Henry Thomas (drums/vocals), and Daniel Cohen (keys/vocals)—will then embark on its first-ever national winter tour, starting with a run of Colorado shows in Boulder (1/8), Denver (1/9), Eagle (1/10), and Fort Collins (1/11).

Throughout January, the band will tour the Midwest and Northeast, making stops in Cincinnati, OH (1/15), Louisville, KY (1/16), Bridgeport, CT (1/24), Manchester, NH (1/31), and more before wrapping with a trio of New York dates in Syracuse (2/26), Buffalo (2/27), and Beacon (2/28). Along the way, the band will link up with Houseplant, Ryan Dempsey (Twiddle), and more for support.

The third volume of Big Shrimp’s live archival series, The Prawno Tapes, arrived on streaming last month, and the band is looking forward to releasing its studio debut sometime next year. Guitarist Jared Sage Cowen said, “We’re making music we’re truly proud of, and we all share the same vision—there’s no ceiling on what we can do. The friendship and chemistry we’ve built are stronger than ever. You can hear it in the music.”

Big Shrimp will take two new fan-engagement programs on the road with them in winter 2026. Through the “Won Buy One Program,” anyone who purchases advance tickets to see Big Shrimp is automatically entered to win a free ticket to a future show, with winners announced during encore breaks. The band also launched Prawn Stats, allowing fans to track show counts, songs seen, and other personal stats.

Since forming last year, Big Shrimp’s touring resume has grown rapidly. Within that time, the band has supported Spafford, Eggy, and Big Something, co-billed with Dizgo at Brooklyn Bowl, and packed a sold-out Goose after-party in New Haven. Big Shrimp’s festival debut at Northlands included a headlining pre-party at Park City Music Hall featuring a sit-in from Tim Palmieri of Lotus.

Big Shrimp is also still hot on the heels of its Forrest Gump-themed Halloween spectacle. The ambitious showing in Syracuse, NY, included a flurry of debuts (both covers and originals), theatrical narration, a ten-foot shrimp, custom props, live ping-pong, and a boat-based costume contest.
