Bill Kreutzmann Plots ‘Grateful Mantra’ Hawaii Benefit Shows With Members Of ALO, Circles Around The Sun, More


After adding two California shows to Billy & The KidsDaze Of The Dead Halloween Run, Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann has announced two benefit shows in Hawaii, dubbed Grateful Mantra, with a one-time-only all-star band featuring members of Billy & The Kids, ALO, Circles Around The Sun, and Stephen Inglis, plus an opening set from Kanekoa.

Presented by Anaina Hou Community Park, the Grateful Mantra benefit shows are set for September 22nd and 23rd at The Porter Pavilion in Kilauea on the island of Kauai, which Kreutzmann calls home. Among the lineup are Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz (ALO), Adam MacDougall (Circles Around The Sun), Reed Mathis (Billy & The Kids), and local Honolulu-born singer-songwriter Stephehn Inglis (Stephen Inglis Project).

The event description included in the announcement reads: “A fundraiser for a community member’s medical needs, expect these evenings to be dance celebrations while this one-time-only all-star band explores the Grateful Dead songbook.”

This announcement comes weeks after Billy & The Kids’ Dead on the Pier two-night run in the port cities of Baltimore and New York City.
