Two weeks ago, the ongoing Live From Out There webcast series presented by 11E1even Group via Nugs.tv put on an all-star tribute to the late Bill Withers. The iconic singer-songwriter passed away on April 3rd as a result of heart complications.
Featured in the hour-long stream were names from across the musical spectrum including Oteil Burbridge, Stephen Marley, and Marcus King. Additional performers also included Alecia Chakour, Finneas, Nigel Hall, Eric Krasno, Lawrence, Son Little, Ivan Neville, Suzanne Santo, David Shaw, Allen Stone, Craig Robinson & The Nasty Delicious, and more.

The video opens with some inspirational quotes from Withers, including, “I feel that it is healthier to look out at the world through a window than through a mirror. Otherwise, all you see is yourself and whatever is behind you.” Following that, the performances begin with Allen Stone singing Withers’ 1980 hit “Just The Two of Us”.
Between performances, the tribute presents viewers with biographical information on Withers as well as more quotes. Other notable performances throughout the video include Nigel Hall singing “Lovely Day”, The Main Squeeze performing “I Can’t Write Left Handed”, Oteil Burbridge sitting at the piano for “In My Heart”, and many more.

Over five weeks of regular broadcasting, Live From Out There has raised over $250,000 for Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. Given the fact that the live music industry is still very much incapacitated, fans can expect yet another announcement for another week of webcasts soon.
