Billy Joel has rescheduled his monthly Madison Square Garden concerts (again) after the COVID-19 pandemic forced postponement earlier this year.
Mr. Long Island was originally scheduled to perform six times at the New York City arena between March 19th and August 3rd. As the pandemic swept across the United States, however, those plans were foiled. Like much of the music industry, Joel remained optimistic and rescheduled those performances for September 26th, 2020 through February 3rd, 2021. As the possibility of large-scale events remains at or below 0% this year, The Piano Man has rescheduled once more, pushing the dates back over a year from the September 26th date.
Billy Joel will now take the Madison Square Garden stage on November 5th, 2021, replacing the original March 19th, 2020 date. December 20th, 2021 will replace the April 10th, 2020 performance, while a concert on January 14th, 2022 takes the place of his May 2nd, 2020 show. Just under a month later, he will perform at the venue on February 12th, 2022 (replaces 6/6/20), before a show on March 24th (replaces 7/23/20) and finally on April 8th (replaces 8/2/20).
Ticket holders for the original 2020 dates will be able to keep their tickets for the rescheduled performances. Furthermore, they can also request a refund within the next 30 days through Ticketmaster or the Madison Square Garden box office. Head to Joel’s website for more information.
