Up-and-coming bluegrass extraordinaire Billy Strings has announced his forthcoming sophomore studio album, HOME, due out on September 27th via Rounder Records. Strings’ new album
Strings’ debut Rounder Records release was recorded in January 2019 at Nashville’s legendary Blackbird Studios’ Studio D followed by an additional week at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Nashville. Produced by Glenn Brown, who was also assisted on Strings’ debut album Turmoil & Tinfoil, HOME includes banjoist Billy Failing, bassist Royal Masat, and mandolinist Jarrod Walker. Guests on the album include guitarist Molly Tuttle, fiddler John Mailander, tabla player John Churchville, and Grammy-winning dobro master Jerry Douglas.
Along with the album announcement, Strings also announced an extensive coast-to-coast fall tour, which will begin with a two-night run at Atlanta, GA’s Terminal West on September 5th and 6th and run through November 23rd with a performance at Covington, KY’s Madison Theater. String’s upcoming tour will include stops at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (9/15); San Francisco’s The Independent (9/21 & 9/22); Portland, OR’s Revolution Hall (9/26 & 9/27); Los Angeles, CA’s Lodge Room (10/4); Asheville, NC’s Orange Peel (10/31); Boston, MA’s The Sinclair (11/13 & 11/14); and Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl (11/15 & 11/16), to name a few.
HOME will be available for pre-order beginning on Friday, July 12th.
