The new single titled, “Taking Water”, hears Strings open the song with a flurry of mixed notation and ambient string noises before the music finds order at the 0:28-second mark. The warm sounds of a banjo and acoustic guitar take the listener into a mid-tempo pace while Strings shares reflections of his past with the listener in singing, “Nothing left but memories/Of things I still can’t stand to see/There’s an empty spot in me/Where my hometown used to be.”

The song was co-produced by Glenn Brown, who is known for work alongside artists including Greensky Bluegrass.
