Blackberry Smoke has shared the second single from their forthcoming You Hear Georgia studio album celebrating the southern rock band’s 20th anniversary, due out May 28th via Thirty Tigers.

The new recording is fueled by gritty guitar tones, a sing-a-long-worthy melody, and some backing vocal arrangements executed wonderfully by The Black Bettys during the chorus lines.

“Lyrically, the song is about the South being misunderstood,” singer Charlie Starr said of the new record. “It’s obviously a rough and tumble world, and there’s a lot of bad people. But there’s a lot of good people too. It started with the idea of how people might have a preconceived opinion of you because of a thick Southern accent, then expanded into the reality of how some people just seem to have such a hard time getting along, thanks to political or religious views, or simply what part of the country you come from.”

The song’s music video also shared on Friday blends 1970s-era long-haul trucking imagery with new footage of the band performing the song in their rehearsal space.
