Never one to gather dust, Bob Weir has announced a new batch of tour dates with Wolf Bros & The Wolf Pack less than 48 hours after finishing Dead & Company‘s Final Tour in San Francisco. The new crop of five concerts will take the Grateful Dead guitarist/vocalist and his backing band (featuring Dead & Co’s Jeff Chimenti and Jay Lane) throughout the eastern United States this September.

Bob Weir & Wolf Bros’ September tour dates are structured around appearances as part of Willie Nelson‘s traveling Outlaw Festival. After setting out with a show at Park City Song Summit in Utah on September 8th, the band will play Outlaw Festival gigs in Tennessee and South Carolina ahead of Bob Weir & Wolf Bros’ headlining show at Ting Pavilion in Charlottesville, VA on the 13th.

Between Outlaw Fest stops, Bob Weir, along with drummer Jay Lane, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, bassist Don Was, and The Wolf Pack auxiliary string and horn section featuring pedal steel guitarist Barry Sless, will play standalone shows in South Burlington, VT (9/19), Columbus, OH (9/26), Philadelphia, PA (9/27), and Baltimore. MD (9/28). Along the way, the band will meet up with Willie Nelson yet again for a set at Farm Aid in Noblesville, IN on the 23rd.

An artist pre-sale for the new Bob Weir & Wolf Bros tour dates begins Thursday, July 20th at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. local time here.

This announcement comes in the wake of Dead & Company’s Final Tour finale at San Francisco’s Oracle Park. The three-night run in the Grateful Dead’s birthplace by the bay was presented as the final outing by the touring party of Weir, Chimenti, Lane, John MayerMickey Hart, and Oteil Burbridge.
