Alabama Shakes singer and guitarist Brittany Howard has shared a live session video featuring her and her band performing “Stay High”. The relatively new song released earlier this summer will appear on Howard’s forthcoming solo debut, Jaime, due out September 20th via ATO Records.

The live session was filmed last month at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, TN, and features Howard alongside her band comprised of Nate Smith (drums); Zac Cockrell (bass); Robert Glasper, Paul Horton & Lloyd Buchanan (keyboards), Alex Chakour & Brad Allen Williams (guitar), and Karita Law with Shanay Johnson (Backing Vocals). The feel-good lyrics sung out by Howard offer a brightening contrast to the dark setting in which the performance takes place.

Howard also announced on Wednesday that she will now perform at day two of the upcoming Afropunk Brooklyn music festival set for this Sunday. Single-day tickets to the event this weekend are still available here.

Howard’s upcoming appearance at Afropunk this weekend slides right into her international fall tour schedule, which begins with a pair of performances at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. with support from Thelma and the Sleaze later this week on August 23rd-24th. Head to Howard’s website for tickets and tour info.
