The first fully authorized Kurt Cobain documentary, Montage of Heck, will not see any involvement from Courtney Love. It will be produced by Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean and directed by Brett Morgan, with no editorial control allotted to Love.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morgen explained, “We agreed that because Courtney was a subject in the film, it would be best if she wasn’t given editorial control.”
The film will premiere at Sundance in January, then hit HBO later in the year. Love is working out plans for her own Cobain biopic in the meantime.
