In response to the unimaginable devastation wreaked by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina at the end of September, Creatives for WNC—a group of benevolent friends and music fans—swiftly put together a silent auction to raise much-needed funds for relief efforts. With 150 items available including tickets to Phish and Suwannee Hulaween, a ton of Pretty Lights memorabilia, private lessons with members of Lettuce, and a whole lot more, the silent auction kicked off on Saturday, October 12th at 7:00p.m. ET and will run for 72 hours until Tuesday, October 15th, at 7:00 p.m. ET. All proceeds will go directly to BeLoved Asheville and Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.

Creatives and professionals from all over the country have coalesced around this endeavor to donate an expansive array of goods, services, memorabilia, and more. Everything from concert and festival tickets, rare original art, jewelry, various types of photography, highly-sought prints and concert posters, instrumental music lessons, leather wear/art, unique digital media, vinyl records, assorted classes, and even life coaching, an entertainment law consultation, or a private chef dinner are up for auction, all for a noble cause.

On the music side of things, there are numerous goodies that document/celebrate Pretty Lights (photos, fan art, posters, gear, merch), as well as virtual music lessons with Adam Deitch and Adam Shmeeans Smirnoff of Lettuce, two pairs of Suwannee Hulaween passes, tickets to Phish in Albany later this month, Joe Marcinek vinyls, autographed Bear Creek Music & Arts Festival posters, and numerous lessons and memorabilia from some favorite artists.

Jennifer Rodriguez, who helped organize this silent auction with friends Erin Fritts and Emily Picart, had this to say about their efforts:

“My fiancé Travis and I work production at our local music venues in Charlotte, NC and beyond. Emily Picart owns Bellator Leather.  Erin Fritts owns Everwind Creations. Erin’s partner, Corey Ramos, who is on the Pretty Lights Media team helped us secure many coveted, high dollar donations. We couldn’t have made this big of an impact without the help of our greater community coming together to help us provide relief for our neighbors in need.”

“When we focused on relief recipients, we wanted to look at short term relief and long term rebuilding,” continued Rodriguez.  “Why BeLoved Asheville? They are a boots-on-the-ground org who at any time of the day, is there for the community and has massive relief efforts in Asheville and beyond.

“Brother Wolf Animal Rescue has been a pillar of the community for animal rescue. They’ve had the shelter that got destroyed in the hurricane since 2007. They got the animals out just in time but now they need to rebuild. They had low cost spay/neuter clinics as well as foster networks and were able to help so many animals find loving homes and save their lives.

“Beyond the destruction in Asheville, as NC natives we are focusing on helping our most rural communities that have the worst of the devastation. I just had a friend who went to Swannanoa today and cried because the news are not covering how absolutely horrible things are,” said Rodriguez.

The silent auction is slated to run through Tuesday, October 15th at 7:00 p.m. ET. Help support relief efforts for our friends and family in North Carolina by placing bids here, and even if you don’t win big, please consider donating.
