The David Bowie Estate has announced the release of Something in the Air, a live album documenting his performance at the Elysée Montmartre in Paris, France on October 14th, 1999. The 15-track album will hit streaming platforms on August 14th.
Something in the Air should have arrived months after the previously-announced I’m Only Dancing live album, however, due to COVID-19 delaying Record Store Day, that LP will now drop two weeks after, on August 29th.
Bowie’s performance at the Elysée Montmartre was just one of seven live performances supporting his 1999 release, Hours, and contained five songs from the album. Additionally, the concert came on the same day that Bowie received France’s highest artistic honor, the Commandeurs of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. The Hours songs performed at the show included “Thursday’s Child”, “Something in the Air”, “Survive”, “Seven”, and “The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell”. His setlist for that evening also included cuts like “Word on a Wing”, “Life on Mars?”, “Repetition”, the Iggy Pop collaboration “China Girl”, and” Drive-In Saturday”.
In anticipation of Something in the Air, the David Bowie Estate released a video “Drive-In Saturday” from the show, which marked its first live performance in 25 years. Watch the live video below, scroll down for a setlist from the show, and click here for Something in the Air streaming options.
