Daze Between New Orleans has announced the eclectic, collaboration-focused artist lineup for its fourth annual event, set to take place once again on the Tuesday and Wednesday between Jazz Fest weekends (April 29th and 30th, 2025) at a new venue, the historic Mahalia Jackson Theater in the heart of the Big Easy [ticketing information].
The event—presented by Live For Live Music, GMP Live, Purple Hat Productions, and Dayglo Presents—was named for the “Daze Between” the two weekends of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival when the Fair Grounds go quiet but the city remains alive with festive energy. It will once again give fans in New Orleans an all-day destination during Jazz Fest’s mid-week pause, with music set to begin in the early afternoon and run through roughly 10:30 p.m. each day.
The Daze Between New Orleans 2025 festivities will begin on Tuesday, April 29th with a heavy-hitting rock lineup led by veteran prog-jam sextet Umphrey’s McGee, who will perform two sets including one Led Zeppelin tribute set featuring drummer Jason Bonham and one original set featuring saxophonist Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band) and trumpeter/vocalist Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band). The Tuesday lineup also includes a set by fellow jam scene staple moe. featuring The Dumpstaphunk Horns (Alex Wasily, Ashlin Parker, and Brad Walker) and a performance by prog-tronic power trio lespecial, who will welcome saxophone madman Skerik (Les Claypool) as a special guest.
On Wednesday, April 30th, Daze Between New Orleans 2025 will come to a close at the Mahalia Jackson Theater with The Allman Betts Band New Orleans Family Revival, a special Big Easy edition of The Allman Betts Band‘s annual “Family Revival” showcase featuring guest appearances by notable New Orleans locals George Porter Jr. (bass, The Meters), Ivan Neville (keys and vocals, Dumpstaphunk), Sierra Green (vocals), and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band Horns in addition to Fest by Nite all-star Eric Krasno (guitar). The Wednesday, April 30th Daze Between New Orleans lineup also features a rare celebration of The Meters by GEOLEO, which features original band members George Porter Jr. (bass) and Leo Nocentelli (guitar) alongside Ivan Neville (keys and vocals, Dumpstaphunk) and Stanton Moore (drums, Galactic), and the recently NOLA-fied lineup of legendary jazz-fusion outfit The Headhunters featuring special guests Eric Krasno (guitar) and Weedie Braimah (percussion).
“We’re excited for this new iteration of Daze Between Festival this year,” said Live For Live Music’s Kunj Shah. “The lineup is on point and every set will be completely unique to the event with special guests and collaborations that will make NOLA proud.”
After three years at the now-closed Faubourg Brewery in New Orleans East, the fourth edition of Daze Between New Orleans is set to take place at the historic Mahalia Jackson Theater, conveniently located in Louis Armstrong Park steps away from the French Quarter in the historic Tremé neighborhood. Billed performances will take place in the venue’s spacious indoor theater, while an outdoor area surrounding the venue’s lavish fountains will invite attendees to take in the venue’s lavish picturesque surroundings alongside food trucks, craft vendors, and live brass bands due to perform before doors open and during set breaks.
“We are thrilled to bring our event to the Mahalia Jackson Theater in the heart of New Orleans where it will be easily accessible for all,” said GMP Live’s Gideon Plotnicki. “We are very excited about our lineup, which features celebrations of some of the best music ever created in Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers Band, and, of course, The Meters. We cannot wait to enjoy it all with our friends in New Orleans this spring.”
As always, Daze Between New Orleans 2025 will give back to the local community via a connected charitable initiative. This year, the event has partnered with Gibson Gives, the 501©(3) nonprofit arm of Gibson Guitars, which is committed to introducing, inspiring, and amplifying the power of music through guitars across all generations, genres, and genders. Gibson Gives and Daze Between New Orleans will raise money through various initiatives to benefit charities relating to music education and the continuation of New Orleans’ musical culture. Stay tuned for more details.
“We created Daze Between New Orleans determined to make a contribution to the greatest musical city in the world, in between weekends of the most important music festival in the world,” said Purple Hat Productions’ Paul Levine. “The ‘Daze Between’ have long been a special time for locals and out-of-towners lucky enough to spend these two weeks in the Crescent City. We are excited to start a new chapter of Daze Between at the historic Mahalia Jackson Theater, the site of many legendary concerts over many decades, and we look forward to creating something very special for music fans in New Orleans for many years to come.”
