There’s no denying that Allen Toussaint was a major influence on an incredibly vast array of musicians, as his iconic NOLA blues songs have been played the world over. With Toussaint’s sudden passing today, naturally fans wondered if the Dead & Company band would pay him tribute at their Worcester, MA show tonight.
Sure enough, the band brought out “Get Out Of My Life Woman” in the second set, segueing in from an emotional performance of The Beatles’ “Dear Prudence” that saw John Mayer laying down some soulful licks. The bluesy number was written by Toussaint and famously covered by the Jerry Garcia Band.

After the tribute, the band jammed into “Goin Down The Road Feeling Bad”, and finished up the show with an encore of “Ripple” that featured Mayer on acoustic guitar. The full show setlist can be seen below.
