Colorado’s Dead Floyd is getting set to celebrate its 15th anniversary later this summer with a string of shows in August and September. Whether it’s Dancing Bears or Flying Pigs, the five-piece has been delivering skillfully curated, high-energy live sets of Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd mash-ups to the Rocky Mountain region since 2009, growing a rabid fanbase in the meantime.
Based out of Fort Collins, CO, Dead Floyd consists of Charlie Humphreys (guitar, vocals), Dana Giove (bass), Stu Crair (drums, vocals), Laniece Schleicher (vocals), Matt Goldberg (keys, synth), and regular guest Andrew Vogt (saxophone). The group digs deep into both band’s catalogs and pulls out plenty of surprises. Dead Floyd has performed at renowned venues such as The Fox Theatre, Aggie Theatre, Boulder Theater, Mishawaka Amphitheatre, Belly Up Aspen, and more.
Dead Floyd will play headline shows in Evergreen, Basalt, and Colorado Springs in August, with an official 15th-anniversary celebration set for the iconic Mishawaka Amphitheatre on Friday, September 13th. Purchase tickets to shows here.
“To reach 15 years as a band is an unbelievable milestone,” drummer Stu Crair reflected. “I’m just so incredibly proud of what we’ve created and continued to evolve over time. Being one of the first in the tribute fusion space to combine multiple classic bands, I feel like we really touched a nerve with people who love to hear these classic catalogs reinvented and reimagined. And the response we get from our fans is just overwhelming. I think our fans understand that we are celebrating the music while interpreting it in our own unique way. We will always honor these songs that we love as they have been the soundtrack to all of our lives, but we will also attempt to push them forward to new sonic places whenever possible. That’s always been the beauty of the exploratory part of combining two monster bands like this. Thank you all for the incredible support over 15 years and we feel like, in some ways, we are really just getting started! “
