Death Kings, the punk-rock/metal collaborative project comprised of Ryan Stasik (Umphrey’s McGee), Mike Gantzer (Aqueous), and Mikey Carubba, continued its 2022 winter tour on Friday night at Allston, MA’s Brighton Music HallFernway guitarist Brett Robertson joined the high-powered trio for the entire show, as he has for the previous three stops on the tour.

This set of winter stops began back on January 19th at Buffalo Iron Works and came anchored around Umphrey’s McGee‘s tour. Death Kings went on to perform at Westcott Theater in Syracuse, NY (1/21) and Empire Underground in Albany, NY (1/22) before a break in the action brought them to the Boston area.

Immediately following Umphrey’s show at the nearby House of Blues, bassist Stasik shot over to Brighton Music Hall and kept the music flowing with Gantzer, Carubba, and Robertson. The four-piece delivered elongated cuts from its forthcoming, debut, self-titled studio album, as well as a variety of covers from artists like FugaziCKYTurnstileSuicidal TendenciesMisfitsNirvana, and more. The evening also saw a guest appearance by lespecial‘s Luke Bemand. lespecial opened for Umphrey’s at House of Blues earlier in the night before Bemand assisted Death Kings on vocals across town.

Up next for the band is an official Umphrey’s McGee after-party in Columbus, OH on February 17th. The band will also head to Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, IL on May 27th.
