Rising Asbury Park, NJ-based jam-rockers Dogs In A Pile have released Bloom, their sophomore studio album, Bloom.

Produced and engineered by veteran Nashville producer Chris Pappas, the nine-track project showcases the prodigious musical abilities of Jimmy Law (vocals, guitar), Jeremy Kaplan (keys), Brian Murray (vocals, guitar), Sam Lucid (bass), and Joe Babick (drums) via a diverse yet cohesive cross-section of the young band’s many sources of influence—from reggae rhythms to synth-pop sonics to lyrically oriented roots and Americana songwriting.

Dogs in a Pile recently returned from a big week aboard floating festival Jam Cruise, where they performed three sets including a SpongeBob Squarepants-themed “Bikini Bottom Jam” and a guest-filled main stage show featuring a number of special guests. The band wasted no time getting back to work after returning to land, quickly heading out on a lengthy tour that will last through the summer.

In addition to club dates all over the country, highlights of the band’s upcoming schedule include summer festival plays at Echoland Music Festival, The Peach Music Festival, Summer Camp Music Festival, Skull & Roses Music Festival, and Northlands Music Festival. Dogs In A Pile will also head to Iceland in May as part of The Disco Biscuits‘ Tranceatlantic destination event in Reykjavik. For a full list of upcoming Dogs In A Pile tour dates, head here.

“It seems like this is the perfect point in time for Bloom to be released,” explained Brian Murray in a statement. “It’s a new year and the most exciting for the Dogs yet. We’re on the road most of the year, expanding further west and also going international for the first time with Jam Cruise and Iceland. We chose the title Bloom not only to pay homage to Michael Bloom, who mixed the album, but also because it truly feels like this thing is starting to bloom. The Dog Pound is stronger than ever. Let’s go!”
