Earlier this week, Dopapod celebrated the release of a new live album, Live At The Capitol Theatre, which captures the band’s April 27th, 2019 performance marking the end of their hiatus after more than a year away. On Friday, the quartet shared the pro-shot video highlighting their 17-minute performance of “FABA” from said reunion show, giving fans a thrilling reminder of what went down during that exciting night in Port Chester, NY.

The lengthy, jam-filled performance hears the quartet tear through the futuristic tune from their 2014 Never Old Or Even studio album with impressive ease. The video opens with guitarist Rob Compa and keyboardist Eli Winderman drawing fans into the instrumental with each of their respective parts of the tune’s spacey intro. The two share a smile and a brief pause before the historic theater fills with light while the rest of the band joins in. From there, the groovy instrumental takes on a life of its own as Compa and Winderman continue to trade off lead lines as their communal efforts gain power and momentum.

As if the intense climax of the music itself isn’t enough, the performance is also fueled by the impressive, multi-colored light show which certainly adds to the emotional impact of the band’s thrilling return that night.

“When we were constructing the setlist for the Cap show, ‘FABA’ was the only song that all four of us unanimously wanted to play.” Compa said in a statement to go with the video’s arrival on Friday. “I think if I had to show someone who has never heard Dopapod before what we sound like, this song would be the one I’d pick.”

The band has been steadily making their way back into the live circuit since their return in April, including a recent performance at The Peach Music Festival. The band’s upcoming performances include scheduled shows at Denver’s at The Ogden Theatre (10/5) as well as a special intimate performance at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox (10/4).
