Eggy recently capped a year of 100+ tour dates with a performance at Richmond, VA’s The Broadberry featuring support from DJ Brownie (The Disco Biscuits’ Marc Brownstein). Today, the ascending New Haven, CT quartet has shared a new multi-camera video of its original/Beatles mashup from the performance: a combination of fan-favorite Eggy tune “Burritos El Chavo 2” and Abbey Road cut “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window” affectionately dubbed “Burreatles”.
The “Burreatles” mashup first entered the Eggy live repertoire in early 2022 and has made five subsequent appearances in the ensuing two years. While the combo hews closely to the structure of “Burritos El Chavo 2”, the lyrics to “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window”—sung with gusto by drummer/vocalist Alex Bailey—lay neatly atop the “Burritos” chord changes to satisfying effect. The Richmond performance rounded out the busiest year yet for Eggy. After kicking off 2024 with a pair of shows at Deerfield, MA’s Tree House Brewing (1/5, 1/6), Bailey, Jake Brownstein (guitar/vocals), Dani Battat (keys/vocals), and Mike Goodman (bass/vocals) will ride their mounting momentum into a lengthy February/March 2024 tour featuring a number of notable stops including a voyage aboard Jam Cruise 20 and a return to Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY on March 23rd for the band’s first-ever Purim celebration.
