Matt Butler will once again remotely convene the Everyone Orchestra for Virtual Sessions Vol. 2 on Friday, June 19th. The second edition of the improv-orient, collaborative project’s Virtual Sessions follows the series’ debut as part of Quarantine Comes Alive last month.

The roster for the next edition of the Virtual Sessions performance from EO—which always features a rotating lineup of participants—will include an all-star list of musicians including Al Schnier (moe.), Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits), Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, Bridget Law, James Casey (Trey Anastasio Band), Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), Kai Eckhardt (Garaj Mahal), and Weedie Braimah.

According to the announcement, the ticketed June 19th event will feature 30-40 minutes of new, pre-recorded performances from the above-mentioned musicians as conducted and produced by Butler, who will also host interviews with the various participants between songs. There will also be a Zoom hangout incorporated into the event for those who purchase general admission passes. Limited VIP tickets will include a pre-show experience with an exclusive 40-minute virtual meet & greet and Q&A with all participating musicians.

Butler said of the upcoming June 19th performance,

In full transparency, I was ignorant about Juneteenth until now and when I scheduled the EO Virtual Sessions I did it without this knowledge. Because it’s a day of celebration and connection, we have decided to keep the event on the date and embrace the holiday as a way of saying Black Lives Matter. We are also committed to education along with celebration, and a portion of the sales will be donated to NAACP in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and the betterment of the political, educational and economic landscape with the goal of equal rights for all.

I’m excited to share the music and space with you and to honor this important holiday.

As Butler previously told Live For Live Music last month of his efforts in bringing the various musicians together from remote locations for Quarantine Comes Alive,

Synching the video of my conducting and the audio of the musicians performing was unimaginably difficult. I enrolled some of the best minds in the business and it took many conversations to figure out how to deal with buffering issues in performing a recording to a VIDEO, not only the audio, since nothing like this had really ever been done before. We figure it out, though!
