Bassist Kevin Scott (Jimmy Herring, Col. Bruce Hampton) woke up on Wednesday morning to a musician’s worst nightmare: overnight, someone had broken into his car and stolen thousands of dollars worth of gear. As gigs start to roll back in after a year and a half of pandemic-imposed touring shutdowns, the burglary comes as an enormous blow to the Atlanta-bred, New Orleans-based musician.

In response to the burglary, Scott’s fans have launched a GoFundMe page to help the bassist recoup what was lost. Head here to contribute to the cause and help out a beloved musician and get him back to work.

Scott also posted security camera footage of the burglary as well as images of the gear that was stolen. If anyone in New Orleans comes across any of the stolen gear, you can contact Kevin on Instagram @thekingseye.
