Goose will return to The Capitol Theatre for a four-night run on April 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th, the band announced on Tuesday. The four-show stretch in Port Chester, NY will mark the Connecticut indie-groove quintet’s first public performances with newly installed drummer Cotter Ellis.

These concerts will signal Goose’s first shows of 2024 and will also mark the band’s return to The Cap after staging a five-night stand in March 2023 (an a three-night stint by acoustic Goose offshoot Orebolo earlier this year). Goose’s popularity has continued to grow over the last year, and for this coming run the band will only make tickets available via a lottery request period (read: there will be no on-sale). Instead, fans have from now until Saturday, March 16th at 5:00 p.m. ET to request tickets, with winners notified no later than the evening of Tuesday, March 19th. Before sending out emails to lottery winners, the band’s team will examine every request looking for suspicious activity and known secondary market accounts and canceling those orders.

To announce the run, Goose shared a humorous video showing the arduous training process for the new guy. In an exercise montage worthy of a Rocky film, it becomes painfully clear that Ellis was not around for Goose’s beachside training sessions with Grateful Dead guitarist and fitness guru Bob Weir at Playing In The Sand back in 2023. With the help of his bandmates Rick MitarotondaPeter AnspachTrevor Weekz, and Jeffrey Arevalo, Ellis gets in fighting shape to take on The Cap and the band’s impending summer tour, set to kick off with a performance at Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie in Chillicothe, IL (5/24–5/26) followed by headlining dates throughout June. For tickets and a full list of tour dates visit the band’s website.

These Capitol Theatre concerts will not be the first ardent Goose fans have seen of Ellis. Upon announcing Ellis’ addition to the band—replacing founding drummer Ben Atkind, with whom the band parted ways late last year—Goose shared video and audio from Cotter’s audition for the band, later compiled onto Ted Tapes 2024. The group has also begun rolling out the Chateau Sessions, featuring in-studio jams on classic Goose songs. Ahead of Tuesday’s announcement, Goose shared a second installment of the Chateau Sessions, available below.
