Goose guitarist/vocalist Rick Mitarotonda logged some extra hours on Saturday with a surprise appearance at the Allman Brothers Band Dreamset at All IN Music Festival in Indianapolis, IN. The festival at the Indiana State Fairgrounds pulled together members of Widespread PanicThe String Cheese IncidentAllman Betts Band, and even the Allman Brothers Band for a tribute to the Southern rock giants.

Mitarotonda sat in with the all-star ensemble on several songs, including live staples like “Whipping Post”, “Midnight Rider”, and “One Way Out”. It was on the latter Eat A Peach gem that Rick truly got his time to shine as he took lead vocals and engaged in a fierce guitar duel with Duane Betts, son of ABB guitarist Dickey Betts.

Among the musicians included in the Allman Brothers Dreamset were Chuck Leavell (Allman Brothers Band, Rolling Stones), Duane Betts, Berry Oakley Jr., Johnny Stachela (Allman Betts Band), JoJo Hermann and Sunny Ortiz (Widespread Panic), Rod Morgenstein (Dixie Dregs, Winger), and Gerry Hansen, featuring Bill Nershi (The String Cheese Incident), Steve Morse (Deep Purple, Kansas), Lamar Williams Jr., and Samantha Fish. Tonight, September 4th, Mitarotonda will participate in the Tom Petty Dreamset with DawesJohn OatesMatt Schultz (Cage The Elephant), Jenny LewisIvan Neville (Dumpstaphunk), and Nicki Bluhm.
