Goose will make its debut at the storied Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA for a two-night Goosemas celebration on December 8th and 9th, 2023. In addition to marking the tenth edition of the Connecticut-native group’s annual holiday get-together, the two Hampton shows will serve as Goose’s final concerts of the calendar year.
The move to Hampton Coliseum, lovingly known as The Mothership, marks the latest in a string of new locations for Goosemas over the last few years. The ninth annual edition of the event in 2022 took Goose to Broomfield, CO’s 1stBank Center for two nights. The eighth installment, originally planned to take place in December 2021, served as the band’s debut at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT when it finally took place in February 2022. Before that, Goose offered up a COVID-altered Goosemas celebration by way of a livestream-only performance from the roof of a building in New York’s Rockefeller Center.
Goosemas has continued to grown on a similarly exponential scale as the band itself. While recent editions have taken place in arenas, back in 2019, the sixth annual Goosemas show at Norwalk, CT’s 1,000-capacity Wall Street Theater at the time marked the band’s biggest headlining performance to date.

“Goosemas started as a small holiday party with our friends in Connecticut 10 years ago, so it’s wild to bring it to this epic coliseum,” said Rick Mitarotonda (guitar, vocals). “Hampton is a very special place to me. I’ve only been there once before, but it was a very meaningful and impactful experience. I’m very grateful we have the opportunity to play there this year.”
“Goosemas is always one of my favorite shows of the year,” added Peter Anspach (guitar, keys, vocals). “I love how everyone gets into the spirit with us, and this year it will be extra special coinciding with our first show at the legendary Hampton Coliseum.”
News of 2023’s Mothership Goosemas arrived with a peculiar, retro-stylized announcement video starring bassist Trevor Weekz, typically a man of few words in the public spotlight. Turns out, when Trevor gets to talking, things start to get, uh… out there. Think Ram Das in outer space. You’ll see what we mean. Read a transcript of Trevor’s musings and watch the announcement video for the tenth annual Goosemas below.

Memories, moments, amalgamations of the senses, synced in a droplet in the Ocean of Time, fleeting and fantastic, perhaps persistent and poignant or cathartic and creative. The cast of your being from a mold of your making. Strings, corks, glue-ons, bubblers. An individual born from the communal cosmic. Are you the zoodles in the colander? Or are you simply the zoodle water? Or are you everything? Does the vibration not hit the flesh like it does the void? You may ask yourself, ‘Why?’ Or, ‘Why not?’ But shouldn’t you ask, ‘Why now?’ Shouldn’t you ask, ‘How now… brown cow?’ We are proliferation, the anticipation, the causation. We are the crystallization, the infatuation, the ideation. The condensation of our exploring of variegation. You are you, but you are we. A drop fills. A drop fills…
