Last weekend at The Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH, Greensky Bluegrass paid tribute to Norman Dimitrouleas, as longtime keyboard player of The Werks and brother of the band’s current bassist Dino Dimitrouleas passed away just over a week ago. The band performed a heartfelt cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Black Muddy River,” dedicated to Norman and all of The Werks family.

GSBG members Paul Hoffman and Anders Beck were aboard Jam Cruise 14 alongside The Werks, who made their debut performance on the boat, when they learned the news of Dimitrouleas’s untimely death.

Anders Beck preceded Greensky’s encore by telling the crowd, “Don’t forget to tell your friends that you love them.” Watch some fan-shot video of the performance below:
