[Update 3/14/25]: After confirming his comeback for a mysterious three-day engagement in October 2025, GRiZ has officially announced his Valley of the Seven Stars Cosmic Campout, a three-day music festival set to take place among the Blue Ridge Mountains in Arrington, VA on October 10th–12th.
“FAMILYYYY!!!” wrote GRiZ, real name Grant Kwiecinski, in a post announcing the Seven Stars Fest lineup. “Woah this feels soooo lovely to be back with you again!!! I have so much to share with you all about my time off, but! I wanted to start with this thing i am maybe the most excited ive ever been in my career about!”
“So for me,” he continued, “getting the squad together, going out on a trip, exploring on random side quests, seeing music, dancing, being completely unserious, discovering something that blows your mind, meeting and connecting with good people, all that and just existing as you are in a safe place where you can fully tap into the energy of it all without any of the other bs is one of the best feelings in the world.”
“i have always dreamed of creating my version of that to share with you since i first ever went to my first festival manyyyyy years ago (i am an old man now lolol). after years and years of planning, dreaming that up im like dang.. WE ARE FINALLY ACTUALLY DOING IT!!”
“Yall Im so so so overjoyed to share with you …our first full blown music festival SEVEN STARS!! Its located in Virginia outside of Charlottesville, and after visiting the property twice now (which POV of me arriving there the first time, instantly having the biggest dumbest smile on my face and feeling goosebumps imaging us all there)….this place is SO BEAUTIFUL, its just greeen and natural, tons of trees, rolling hills, feels tucked away and hidden, you can see the blue ridge mountains on the horizon (sunsets there btw omg)…you could really feel the magic of it.”
“its been this massive heart-driven experience putting it all together from, booking lots of my favorite artists, inviting lovely workshop leaders from kulabunga, creating secret missions and lore, planning all the shenanigans that we’ve brought to other festivals in the past and all the ideas i didn’t get to do, and putting in as many cool art, self expression, and experiential things i could think of…”
“And now …this becomes OUR thing!!” he concluded. “Seven Stars is a reflection of my life’s work, a culmination of everything I’ve wanted to share with you all. I hope to see you there!”

[3/11/25]: GRiZ broke his silence on Tuesday with his first post since signing off for an indefinite hiatus in October 2023.
After one and a half years out of the public eye, the beloved electronic producer seemed to indicate his return with a vague promo video of himself driving a tractor, jamming out to music on headphones. At the end of the video, GRiZ looks to the camera and says, “Back to work,” just before the dates “10/10/25 – 10/12/25” appear on screen. If there was any doubt as to the nature of the announcement, he also included the caption, “WE ARE SO BACK!” He encouraged fans to sign up here to be the first to know more.
The farm-themed video and dates seem to align with the “grand opening” of the Seven Stars General Store, which appears to be a new three-day music festival, though details are scant. The website offers only vague clues about the event, and the merch store isn’t much help, containing only sold-out listings for a tree-scented car freshener, postage stamps, an abacus, a jar of Velveeta-brand cheese dip, a novelty lion-shaped disco decoration, a bread basket, and a Seven Stars General Store hat.

GRiZ, aka Grant Kwiecinski, initially announced that he would put the project on hiatus “for the foreseeable future” in June 2023. After finishing off his remaining engagements, including appearances at Bonnaroo, Secret Dreams, Bass Canyon, and his own GRiZMAS In July event, he played his last show at Same Same But Different in Lake Perris, CA on September 30th, 2023.
In a note to fans posted on October 7th, 2023—his last post before today—he wrote:
Time to sign off for a while. This all has truly been a life’s honor. See you again.
GRiZ fam for life 💜
