Guster was in Boulder, CO earlier this week where the veteran rock band delivered a very entertaining improv-inspired performance at the Boulder Theater. The show was the latest stop on Guster’s ongoing acoustic-meets-improv comedy winter tour, which initially began late last month in Los Angeles, CA.
Thursday’s show heard the band deliver a mix of older fan favorites with newer tunes that appeared on 2019’s Look Alive. The performance opened with “Careful” from 2003’s Keep It Together, and continued with the occasional joke from the show’s host and comedian Connor Ratliff.

Throughout the night, fans were treated to performances of “Rocketship”, “Satellite”, “Either Way”, “The Beginning of the End”, “The Captain”, “Do You Love Me”, and “Amsterdam”, to name a few. At one point, Ratliff noticed a pair of children fast asleep on their parents’ laps in the second row. The band thought it was hilarious, and climbed off the stage into the crowd to take photos with the sleeping kids and their parents.
The show eventually came to a fitting close with a three-song encore of “Hard Times”, “Two Points for Honesty”, and “This Could All Be Yours”.
The band’s acoustic/comedy tour continues this weekend with a scheduled performance at The Englert Theatre in Iowa City, IA on Saturday (3/7). Head to Guster’s website for tickets.
