The team behind Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion will bring a new event to the Birthplace of Country Music with the launch of In The Pines. The new one-day concert will debut in the Tennessee-Virginia border town of Bristol on June 1st, 2024 with a headlining performance from honky tonk savior Dwight Yoakam.

The inaugural In The Pines will celebrate the evolving state of country music with additional performances by country-rock crossover queen Elle King, swaggering Texas baritone Paul Cauthen, and rising Oklahoma alt-country voice Wyatt Flores. These four acts will perform consecutive sets on a single stage in downtown Bristol, where the border of Tennessee and Virginia cuts right down State Street.

Tickets for In The Pines 2024 in Bristol, including VIP and shuttle packages, are on sale now.

Presented by local organization Birthplace of Country Music (BCM), In The Pines takes its name from the iconic song “The Longest Train I Ever Saw”. The song was among those recorded by the Tenneva Ramblers at the legendary 1927 Bristol Sessions, which gave the city its claim to fame as the birthplace of country music. Over the ensuing near-century, the song has been reinterpreted by everyone from Bill Monroe and Dolly Parton to Leadbelly and Nirvana, making it a perfect symbol for country and roots music’s ever-changing place in popular culture. BCM also hosts the annual three-day Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion in downtown Bristol every September.
