UPDATE 8/18/20: Outside Lands Music Festival promoters have announced the lineup for the 2020 virtual edition of Inside Lands. The announcement comes nearly two months after the cancellation of the annual Golden Gate Park music festival.
This year’s inaugural Inside Lands lineup will feature live and archival performances from alt-J, Amo Amo, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Beach House, Brittany Howard, Cage the Elephant, Gorillaz, Haim, J. Cole, Jack White, Khruangbin, LCD Soundsystem, Leon Bridges, Louis The Child, Major Lazer, Nathaniel Rateliff, Sharon Van Etten, Tycho, and many more.

Organizers for San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music Festival have announced a new virtual event, dubbed Inside Lands. The announcement comes just weeks after Outside Lands announced the cancellation of its 2020 in-person event.

From August 28th-29th, Inside Lands will stream never-before-seen footage to celebrate the past 12 years of the festival’s history. Starting at 4 p.m. PT on the 28th, Inside Lands will air past performances, premiere new livestream content, and feature the small businesses and community that have made Outside Lands a unique West Coast festival experience.
Inside Lands will stream for free on Twitch and will offer exclusive live performances, curator, producer, and artist interviews, fan testimonials, and more. According to festival organizers, Twitch’s vibrant community and unique engagement features will allow the event to bring the best parts of an in-person festival online.
“While we wish we were able to gather in Golden Gate Park this August, we are still looking forward to taking Outside Lands inside and celebrating all that makes the festival such a memorable experience,” said Head of Concerts & Festivals at Another Planet Entertainment and Co-Producer of Outside Lands, Allen Scott, in a press release.
“Our hope is by sharing live performances and interviews from fan favorites and iconic sets from the archives, in addition to shining a spotlight on the small businesses and Bay Area community who are the heartbeat of our festival, we are providing a forum for fans to enjoy the many highlights of the festival safely at home.”

Upon announcing the cancellation of Outside Lands 2020, the festival did announce a 2021 event, which will take place at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA, on August 6th-8th. The lineup includes headlining performances from The Strokes, Lizzo, Tame Impala, Tyler, The Creator, Vampire Weekend, J Balvin, Kehlani, ZHU, and more. The event will also include performances from Khruangbin, Bonobo, Nelly, Brittany Howard, Sharon Van Etten, Hinds, The 1975, The Soul Rebels, Beach House, and others.
