John Prine has canceled several upcoming concerts in the wake of a hip injury. The 73-year-old singer-songwriter made the announcement via social media on Thursday, apologizing to his fans and stating that his next performance won’t be until his headlining slot on April 26th at MerleFest in Wilkesboro, NC.

The canceled shows include a run of concerts in the United Kingdom, two gigs in Hawaii, and several performances in Australia. The shows were spread out between February and April and included a set during Bluesfest in Tyagarah, Australia, April 9th-13th. There has been no official word from Bluesfest on any plans to fill Prine’s performance slot.

“We truly regret to inform you that John will be taking a break from touring, as being on the road has aggravated a hip injury,” the Prine family said in a post. “For those who have purchased tickets to any of the affected shows, the venue will have more specific information.”
