Kanye West‘s Yeezy brand is reportedly going after one of the company’s former interns in court, claiming the individual violated a nondisclosure agreement by sharing unapproved images to his personal Instagram page.
A report published by The Hollywood Reporter late last week explains that Yeezy, which releases West-designed lifestyle apparel in partnership with Adidas, filed the legal complaint in L.A. County Superior Court which claims the former intern violated his nondisclosure employment agreement that included a $500,000 liquidated damages provision. The complaint also claims the individual didn’t initially remove the images from his social media account at first, despite multiple cease and desist letters sent by Yeezy.
The filed suit, which further details the breach of contract and conversion, requests $500,000 from the intern in liquidated damages, along with punitive damages as the report details the company believes he’s acting with malicious intent.
The first real “Kanye” headline of 2021 follows a busy but confusing year for the famous rapper/producer and fashion designer in 2020 which included a confounding campaign for President leading up to the election and the release of a new gospel album just two days after Christmas.
