Karina Rykman has announced a hometown throwdown at the 650-capacity Racket NYC on Saturday, May 18th that will serve as her largest headlining show to date.
The certified “City Kid” and her namesake psych-rock trio featuring guitarist Adam November and drummer Chris Corsico have been working their way up the venue ladder in New York and beyond for years. After Rykman’s last play in the city—a release party for her Trey Anastasio-co-produced debut LP, Joyride, at Brooklyn’s 280-cap Baby’s All Right—sold out well in advance, Rykman and company set their sights on the much larger Racket NYC, the recently renovated, Bowery Presents-operated venue in the space formerly occupied by Highline Ballroom.
“My last NYC show sold out 3 months in advance, which was absolutely mind-boggling for us,” Karina told Live For Live Music. “This is a big step up and I can’t wait for this hometown show on the island of Manhattan, where I’m from!”
She added, “There’s no better way to support touring musicians than planning ahead and grabbing tix early!”

Karina will stay plenty busy in the months between now and her Racket NYC debut in May. Later this month, she’ll hit the road for several weeks’ worth of shows in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri. Her upcoming schedule also includes a set at Boise, ID’s Treefort Festival in late March and an appearance at Tedeschi Trucks Band‘s Sun, Sand & Soul beach weekend in Miramar Beach, FL in early May.
