Australian psych-rock/punk band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard has announced the forthcoming release of their next studio album, Fishing For Fishies, scheduled to arrive on April 26th via Flightless Records.

Details of the album, shared early Monday morning, follow the arrival of the band’s latest single, “Cyboogie”, and North American summer 2019 tour announcement in recent weeks. The artwork shared with the album’s announcement also features the project’s nine-song tracklisting, which includes the previously-released “Cyboogie” along with eight other new original tunes.

Fishing For Fishies will be the band’s first studio effort since the popular rock band released a mind-blowing five full-length albums in 2017, including Flying Microtonal Banana, Murder of the Universe, Sketches of Brunswick East (with Mild High Club), Polygondwanaland, and Gumboot Soup. They also released a pair of 10-inch singles on vinyl last spring as well.

The band’s upcoming run of North American concerts is scheduled to begin on August 13th with a show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The tour will keep the band on the road performing for their fans in the U.S. and Canada before wrapping on September 6th in Dallas, TX, after which they’ll head across the ocean for a show in London in early October. Fans should presume that the band will announce more international concert dates in the coming months leading up to the arrival of Fishing For Fishies come April.
