Lake Street Dive didn’t close out its semi-acoustic Gather Round Sounds Tour quite as planned, with the neo-indie-soul quintet circling back to The Capitol Theatre on Monday for a makeup show. The band was originally slated to perform at the Port Chester, NY venue on February 3rd and 4th, but the former show was rescheduled to the 6th after “a little food poisoning got in the way.”

For the Gather Round Sounds TourRachael Price (lead vocals), Bridget Kearney (bass), Mike Calabrese (drums), Akie Bermiss (piano/vocals), and James Cornellison (guitar) employed a mix of acoustic and electric elements to offer reimagined takes on their beloved originals and fan favorite covers. Last year, Lake Street Dive released Fun Machine: The Sequel, a six-song covers EP and follow-up to 2012’s Fun Machine. The collection included songs by Carole KingShania TwainBonnie Raitt, and more, many of which showed up throughout the tour.

In addition to Fun Machine: The Sequel covers like Raitt’s “Nick of Time” and The Pointer Sisters‘ “Automatic”, LSD also threw it back to the original 2012 Fun Machine with Daryl Hall & John Oates‘ “Rich Girl”. A high point of the Gather Round Sounds Tour shows arrived in the encore as Lake Street Dive would bring out openers Monica Martin and Rachel Mazer, who joined Price to form a heavenly choir for a take on Elvis Presley‘s “Can’t Help Falling In Love”.
