While Daze Between New Orleans 2025 will come to a close on Wednesday, April 30th as weekend two of Jazz Fest begins, lespecial will keep the “Daze Between” alive a little longer with a late-night show at New Orleans, LA’s Toulouse Theatre on Thursday, May 1st (technically early-a.m. May 2nd) featuring special guests Mike Dillon and Kanika Moore [ticketing information].

Both Kanika Moore, the dynamic vocalist for Doom Flamingo, and Mike Dillon, the punk-jazz vibraphonist and veteran Les Claypool wingman, are familiar faces in the extended lespecial “Homieverse.” Moore has sat in with the Connecticut-based trio on various occasions, whether on lespecial originals or covers of heavy-hitting songs by mutual influences like Tool and Nine Inch Nails. Dillon and lespecial come together periodically to push the boundaries of Dillon’s early-days punk repertoire under the moniker Fackn’ A.

The lespecial Toulouse Theatre show will follow the prog-tronic power trio’s Tuesday, April 29th set featuring Skerik as part of Daze Between New Orleans at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. That day, lespecial and Skerik will warm things up for moe. with the Dumpstaphunk Horns and Umphrey’s McGee with Jason Bonham (playing a Led Zeppelin set) and Jeff Coffin/Jennifer Hartswick (playing an original set). On Wednesday, the two-day event will continue at the Mahalia Jackson Theater with The Allman Betts Band New Orleans Revival featuring George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, and more; GEOLEO (George Porter Jr. and Leo Nocentelli of The Meters with Ivan Neville and Stanton Moore), and The Headhunters with Eric Krasno and Weedie Braimah.
